There’s lots happening around Houlton, and our local councillors have been busy tackling everything from road conditions to footpath issues and drainage improvements. They’re also pushing for action on dangerous parking near David Lloyd and keeping up the pressure for progress on the much-awaited District Centre.
One big bit of news — the process has officially begun for Houlton to get its own parish council! 🎉
Over 400 residents signed the petition, and if all goes well, we could have a dedicated Houlton Parish Council within the next year. This means more local control over how our community funds are used — and maybe even a lower annual precept than we currently pay to Clifton.
The councillor team is also growing! A warm welcome to Devenne (Dev) Kedward, who’s already jumped in to help move things forward on the District Centre and the proposed GP surgery — something many of us have been hoping to see soon.
If you want to stay in the loop or share local concerns, don’t forget to follow ‘Houlton Councillors’ on Facebook — over 900 neighbours already have!
Together, we’re helping shape the future of our community 💙
